Our Sponsors for the Year 2006

A.C. Moore

Phronsa and Paulette were first “introduced” to A.C. Moore in Columbus, Georgia when they attended the Warm Springs retreat hosted by Judy Powell in April of 2005.  It was Love-at-first-shop!  After discovering that Birmingham had an A.C. Moore store, it was a real treat to not only shop there, but spread the news of what an awesome selection of scrapbook supplies could be found there.  For our first retreat, the Birmingham location donated a $25.00 gift card which we used to purchase one of the larger prizes we gave away at Camp Sumatanga (we used the gift card and a 50% off coupon).

Owners, Leslie Sewell and her mother, Mary Hix donated over $350.00 worth of fantastic scrapbook prizes for our first retreat held in 2006 at Camp Sumatanga, Gallant, AL.  This included albums, papers, beads, rub-ons, embellishments, stickers, rubber stamps, inks, and much, much more!  Winners of some of those prizes were: Melanie Yancey, Karen Drenner, Phronsa Farmer, Angie Cupp, Shanna Coan, and Paulette Hathcock.  Since then, the store has phased out the scrapbooking section.  *See the spotlight on Leslie and Mary for more details.

Rheba Long, Creative Memories Consultant

Located:Rainbow City, AL

Rheba has been a Creative Memories consultant for four years.  She holds crops at her cozy and welcoming home two nights per week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) where beginners and advanced scrappers meet to share fun, fellowship, and wonderful snacks, too.  Most nights they even get a little scrapping done!  While there, you may have the privilege of using her many tools and supplies and shop at her store that’s always open.  First timers never pay for a spot and all other guests pay ONLY $3.00 per night!

In addition to helping with the organization of our first retreat (’06), Rheba was a HUGE contributor. That year she gave Creative Memories page completion kits for every goodie bag, several prizes and gifts, as well as one of our biggest baskets which contained a CM Kaleidoscope album, page protectors, and lots of other beautiful items to go with that gift (won by Jan Trecky).
